Winter flowering pansies can fill pots and planters for a very long time. While those that flower in spring and summer require regular watering, this is not the case for winter pansies. You will simply have to ensure that the substrate does not dry out and if watering is necessary add a liquid fertilizer for flowering plants since pansies are quite voracious plants.

Do you like shrubs with fragrant flowers? Do not hesitate to plant one or more plants of Ligustrum japonicum Texanum (Texas privet). This shrub reaches 4 m in height, its foliage is evergreen (or semi-evergreen if the winter is harsh) and its June-July flowering gives off a fairly powerful scent that some even describe as heady. The bees love it! The icing on the cake is that flowering is followed by interesting and abundant black fruiting which will delight the birds. The Texas privet is resistant to -15°C and grows equally well in sun and partial shade.
Do you want to plant a tree that stands out and grows quickly? Ask your nurseryman to get you a Eucalyptus rubida. This species grows 2 to 2.5 m per year, a growth that slows down significantly when the tree reaches… 20 m. Its very aromatic foliage is light and therefore the tree casts almost no shade. The bark is also interesting as is its hardiness, -14°C.
Finally, don't forget to order your seeds and maintain your gardening tools in order to be ready for the summer season…
Merry Christmas to everyone!
