“Learn to learn”
First advice? Train your brain and learn how to learn. “The more you use your memory, the quicker and easier the path allowing you to access it will be,” emphasizes the doctor. The latter explains that from a very young age, learning long poems allows you to use your memory and develop a good working method. In adulthood, the principle is the same, and the doctor also advises getting back to learning poetry.
Take care of your diet
The second advice from the specialist is on the side of our plate. Foods rich in omega-3 improve concentration and especially memory. “They allow our brain to create new neurons in an area responsible for memory called the hippocampus. Your diet has an impact on your memory skills,” explains the doctor. To include these good fats in your menus, you can eat sardines, herring, mackerel, but also flax seeds, chia seeds and even nuts.
Sleep
“To memorize well, you have to sleep well.” Here is the last advice from Jimmy Mohamed. “Adolescents who sleep less than 7 hours per night on weekdays and go to bed late on weekends have been shown to have smaller brains. We have shown that the gray matter which makes up our brain in the areas responsible for memory is present in smaller quantities,” indicates the specialist.
