A child was killed and several people injured in a strike that targeted a house in Jabalia, also in the north of the territory, where Israeli forces have concentrated their operations in recent weeks.
Another Palestinian died when his tent was struck overnight in the Al-Mawasi area of the southern Khan Yunis region, Bassal said.
The United States said Tuesday it was “cautiously optimistic” about the prospect of reaching a truce between Israel and Hamas.
The Palestinian Islamist movement, for its part, declared that discussions held in Doha with a view to reaching a ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages from Gaza were “positive”.
And according to a source close to the talks, an Israeli delegation arrived in Doha on Monday to meet mediators, information that Israeli authorities have not confirmed.
