The World Cheese Awards in Bern, an international launch pad for Swiss cheesemakers

This is a great caseinated raout. The World Cheese Awards, an international competition considered by some to be the most recognized on the continent, will be held in Bern in 2025. The organizer, Guild of Fine Food, announced the news on November 15 from the Portuguese city of Viseu, where the the current edition. The event brings together the finest connoisseurs, whose mission is to distinguish among more than 4,000 candidates those who deserve to join the podium of the best cheeses in the world.

Next year, the Swiss cheesemakers will therefore play at home. “We are really satisfied. This type of competition is a way of comparing yourself internationally,” rejoices Philippe Bardet. The director of the Gruyère inter-professional association is very proud: of the 150 Gruyère cheese factories, around forty of them have already won an international tournament, he assures. “This is proof that the quality of our products is excellent.”
