Un deal concluded”, “a tacit agreement”, “the leaders have agreed on a distribution”… In recent hours, sources have converged to confirm (unofficially) that the casting of European “top jobs” is becoming clearer. But everyone is quick to add this caveat: “except in the event of a twist”. The heads of state and government will find, in any case, on their dinner table on Monday evening in Brussels, four names. One for each position to be filled. Ursula von der Leyen, for a second term at the head of the Commission; former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa, to succeed Charles Michel at the European Council; Roberta Metsola, for two and a half more years at the perch of Parliament; the Estonian Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, as the new head of European diplomacy.
