several residents receive an incredible gift from “Taiwanese Bill Gates”!

At first she thought it was a scam but it’s really true. Régine still struggles to believe her eyes. A few days ago, the retiree received a rather intriguing little red envelope. Inside ? A donation of 1,500 euros!

This resident of the small French village of Duravel is not the only one to have had this surprise. In fact, around fifty locals received checks for 1,000 to 2,000 euros. “It fell from heaven, because I live next to the church,” she laughs at the microphone of TF1.

Everyone doesn’t know it, but two things in common bring them together. First of all, they are members of the SOLIHA association, which fights substandard housing. Then, “these are people that we usually don’t hear about, who have experienced hardships, life’s accidents, and yet who have never given up, who have always tried to get out,” specifies Christine Piette, director of SOLIHA Lot, who therefore worked to distribute the generous gift.

Behind this idea, we find the Taiwanese billionaire Chang-Ta Hsieh, whom many call the “Taiwanese Bill Gates”. With a fortune estimated at 9 billion dollars (8 billion euros), the rich businessman contacted the association this summer. “He comes from a modest background,” reveals the president. “He built himself up and made lots and lots of money. Precarious people from three other localities in the Old Continent, linked to associations, were also given envelopes directly from his hand.
