Malaria is rampant in the colony of Azawad and Algeria ends up admitting it

Youssef Adadad

The Algerian regime has recognized the epidemic of “malaria” in the colony of Azawad, while health authorities announced an increase in cases of infection in the southern regions of the country, known for their historical link with the colony of Azawad.

This recognition comes after the deterioration of the health situation in these areas, which suffer from a serious shortage of medical services, which has led to the spread of diseases and a worrying deterioration of conditions.

Reuters revealed that the Algerian Ministry of Health recorded cases of malaria and diphtheria in the south of the country on Friday.

The same source adds that the Ministry of Health indicated that all reported cases concern expatriates who entered illegally from neighboring countries.

Algeria is witnessing an epidemic of malaria and diphtheria in regions like Timiaouine, Tin Zouatin, Tondert, Bordj Badji Mokhtar and Ain Guezzam, causing dozens of deaths and hundreds of infections amid a blackout major media coverage and total absence of authorities, who do not care about the health of the citizens of the south, rich in oil and gas.

Local health facilities, despite their small numbers and lack of necessary capacity, are currently under severe pressure due to the influx of large numbers of infected people.

In this context, Algerian voices have questioned: does what is happening in the south of the country not deserve an emergency meeting of the highest authorities, like the one held under the leadership of Abdelmadjid? Tebboune to impose visas on Moroccans? Where are the spokespersons for the military regime, which does not care at all about the situation of the Algerians and is content to spread nonsense?!
