Dakar, Jan 26 (APS) – Senegal will be part of Hats 1 of the draw for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025, according to the measures taken by the African Football Confederation (CAN) in prelude to this exercise scheduled for Monday in Rabat.
The CAN 2025 will be held from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
The drawing of the competition will take place on Monday, January 27, in the Moroccan capital.
The seeded status has been granted to six countries: Côte d’Ivoire, which is reigning African champion, Morocco, which has been appointed organizing country of CAN 2025, Nigeria, vice-champion of Title Africa, Senegal, Algeria and Egypt.
These six teams will therefore constitute hat 1, the second including Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Burkina Faso.
-Hats 3 brings together Angola, Gabon, Uganda, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia and Benin. Mozambique, Comoros, Sudan, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Botswana are gathered in hat 4.
Six groups of four teams will each be formed during the draw.
