The White House said on Sunday evening that Colombia had accepted the conditions laid down by President Donald Trump on the repatriation of illegal migrants and said therefore suspended sanctions announced earlier against Bogota.

“The Colombian government has accepted all of President Trump’s conditions, including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal foreigners from Colombia dejected from the United States, including on board American military aircraft, without limitation or delay,” indicated the White House in a press release.

“Based on this agreement, fully written prices and sanctions will be put in reserve and will not be signed, unless Colombia does not honor this agreement,” added the spokesperson for the White House Karoline Leavittt in this press release.

The sanctions relating to the visas issued by the State Department are, however, maintained “until the first flight of Colombian expelled has successfully arrived,” it was added from the same source.
