Turkiye Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met on Sunday with his counterparts from around the world on the sidelines of the meeting on Syria organized in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to discuss the current situation in Syria.
A statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry indicates that Hakan Fidan met with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and the Foreign Minister of the new Syrian administration, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Fidan also met with his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan, US Deputy Secretary of State John Bass and European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas.

Foreign ministers from Arab and Western countries met in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Sunday to discuss the situation in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime last month.
The meeting was attended by Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, the United Kingdom and Germany. The United States and Italy were also represented at the deputy foreign minister level.
The Riyadh meeting follows the Aqaba meetings held in Jordan on December 14, 2024. These meetings emphasized support for the Syrian people and pledged to provide all possible assistance to ensure security and stability in the country.
Al-Assad, who ruled Syria for nearly 25 years, fled to Russia after anti-regime groups took control of Damascus on Dec. 8, ending long-standing Baath Party rule. decades.
