The currency must be “rethought” and “recast”, according to the former Director of General Resources of the Presidency of the Republic, Cheikh Oumar Diagne.
In a note written on social networks to announce the publication of his book entitled “Thinking about currency in the service of Pan-Africanism. Exiting single currencies”, Sheikh Omar Diagne affirms: “This highly symbolic day is that of the creation of UEMOA after the devaluation of the CFA franc in 1994. Monetary union without budgetary federalism must be rethought and refounded. »
Beyond that, Mr. Diagne informs that this book is dedicated to President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, who gave him the “distinguished honor” of prefacing it. “My modest participation in the future Senegalese currency contributes to the consolidation of our independence and the full expression of our sovereignty,” he added.
