The “Pensons Développement” Initiative aims to be a think tank aimed at transforming challenges into opportunities in order to mobilize the resources and skills necessary to create a better and more prosperous future for Africa.
The “Pensons Développement” concept is a new ambition to transform Africa. Led by entrepreneur Joël Nianzou, it offers a bold and inclusive approach to meeting the challenges of development on the continent.
This think tank was launched on January 4, 2025 on the occasion of the official release of the Association of Women Heroes of Essankro (AFHE), a village in Assinie, a seaside town located in the Ivorian South-East.
In a context marked by complex socio-economic challenges, “Pensons Développement” is a platform for reflection and action intended to catalyze sustainable solutions. For Joël Nianzou, “ African challenges require African responses, innovative and anchored in local realities ».
Based on principles of inclusion, collaboration and innovation, this platform intends to mobilize experts, opinion leaders and field players to rethink mentalities and promote harmonious and equitable development.
The launch of “Pensons Développement” in Essankro is intended to be symbolic. The Association of Women Heroes of Essankro was honored for its central role in community development.
« We cannot transform Africa without starting from our villages. Essankro is a symbol, a place where ideas take root to inspire an entire continent. Let’s Think Development means building together, with audacity and determination “, said Mr. Nianzou.
The “Pensons Développement” initiative aims in particular to strengthen food security by supporting sustainable agriculture and access to local markets, to promote industrialization through innovation and the development of value chains.
It also aims to improve access to energy by focusing on renewable energies, to encourage regional integration and trade, and to renew mentalities through training, discussion panels, and immersive actions in the rural communities.
This initiative is justified by the pressing need to rethink development approaches in Africa, by tackling challenges such as access to energy, food security, industrialization which require innovative and coordinated solutions.
Through this Joël Nianzou wants to promote the adoption of new approaches and technologies to meet Africa’s energy needs, in accordance with the African Development Bank’s objective of “Lighting up Africa”.
With this in mind, it wants to contribute to promoting food security and agricultural development by supporting initiatives aimed at increasing agricultural productivity and improving access to markets, in line with the “Feed Africa” objective.
The African context is marked by complex socio-economic challenges, but also by immense potential for development. However, to fully exploit this potential, it is imperative to rethink traditional approaches and promote innovation.
In this context, the “Pensons Développement” initiative emerges as an innovative response. By bringing together experts, thought leaders and key development stakeholders, this initiative aims to catalyze sustainable and innovative solutions to drive progress in Africa.
Through monthly panels, reflection networks, interventions in rural communities, awareness-raising activities and an annual forum, “Pensons Développement” is committed to renewing mentalities and promoting socio-economic and community development.
