Don’t pick up a hitchhiker. This is the message sent by the police to motorists traveling this Friday in Luxembourg City or its surroundings.

The police are, in fact, currently looking for a suspicious person who evaded a check on the road from Arlon to Strassen, more precisely at the motorway exit ramp. The road is partially blocked and traffic is interrupted. An official alert was issued by the authorities regarding the fugitive.

The police, contacted by the Luxembourg wordconfirmed that a person had escaped police control. In its bulletin, the police explain that the occupants of the vehicle who tried to evade control collided with a police car, injuring two police officers.

One of the two occupants then left the scene on foot before fleeing towards the City of Luxembourg. The fugitive is still being sought. The first occupant of the vehicle was arrested.

Police also confirmed that a police helicopter was flying over the area. Several police units are also on site.
