It's a more than fifty-year-old case that has finally been resolved in the United Kingdom in recent days. A woman who went missing in 1972 near Conventry, England, has been found alive and well by authorities, reports The Guardian Wednesday. She was able to be identified and located following an appeal for witnesses launched by West Midlands Police on its website and social media.

Sheila Fox vanished fifty-two years ago, at the age of 16. At the time, investigators suspected a flight alongside his companion. Today, the 68-year-old Briton lives in another region of the country.

She was recognized thanks to the sharing of a unique black and white photograph, dating from the moment of her disappearance. Despite the low quality of the photo, Internet users contacted the police to provide them with crucial information about Sheila Fox.
“We are delighted to announce the conclusion of one of the longest missing persons investigations carried out by West Midlands Police,” said a local law enforcement representative. “Every missing person has a story, and their families and friends deserve to know what happened to them and, hopefully, find them.”
