He also declared to a reporter from Politico that a ruling by the Supreme Court against a decision by the President would cause a “constitutional crisis”.

Dangerous suggestions
John Roberts’ reference to the Republican Eisenhower and the Democrat Kennedy is important: it underlines that the decisions of the Supreme Court do not depend on the ideology of the tenant of the White House. Which, in Justice Roberts’ historical comparison, would be akin to “l’opposition massive” of the Southern States seventy years ago. The nuance will not have escaped JD Vance.
