The Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré handed over, Monday December 23, 2024, from Ouagadougou, logistical and combat equipment to the army.
The Burkinabè army received new war equipment from the Head of State, including others assembled in Burkina, reported the Presidency of Faso.
She specified that this is a large batch of equipment made up of jet containers, tank trucks and anti-mine armored vehicles. “The tanks were specially assembled in Burkina Faso by a national company,” added the same source.
The President of Faso himself made the trip to symbolically hand over the keys to the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Brigadier General Célestin Simporé.
“I am officially handing over the keys to these logistical and combat vehicles to you. Take this material as an end-of-year gift from the people to their army and intensify the war,” said Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
According to the Presidency of Faso, the equipment handed over will strengthen the operational capabilities of the Combatant Forces in the reconquest of territorial integrity.
Since taking power in September 2022, Captain Traoré has engaged in a process of consistently equipping the Burkinabè army.
