This is André Gleissner, a young boy aged 9.
His mother, Desiree Gleissner, paid tribute to him in a message published on her Facebook page on Saturday.
“André didn’t do anything to anyone. He was only 9 years old. Why…just why, I don’t understand,” she wrote.
“Now you are with your grandmother and grandfather in heaven,” she added. They missed you a lot, as much as we miss you here now. You will always live in our hearts, I promise you.”
André was one of five people who died and 200 others who were injured when a car plowed into a crowd at a Christmas market on Friday evening.
The suspect of Saudi origin, Taleb Abdulmohsen, 50, was arrested on the spot by the authorities.
The German government also promised on Sunday a rapid and thorough investigation to clarify possible errors by the authorities in preventing this deadly attack.
