The Moroccan literary critic, Ibrahim El Guerraoui, won the 4th edition of the Sharjah Prize for Arab poetry criticism for his research on “the poetics of the text”, the general secretariat of the prize announced on Sunday. Ibrahim El Guerraoui took third place this edition, placed under the theme “The meeting of literary genres in the contemporary Arab poem”.
The Iraqi critic Ahmed Jar Allah Yassin won second place, while the Tunisian Fathi Ben Belkacem Nasri obtained first place, specifies a press release from the general secretariat. Sponsored by the Governor of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, this Prize revolves around literary criticism in poetic matters and intends to stimulate and encourage the creativity of Arab researchers, while contributing to the enrichment of the Arab creative landscape. On this occasion, the Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Secretary General of the Prize, Muhammad Ibrahim Al Qasir, underlined that this Prize has played an essential role in the reassessment of Arabic poetry under a global critical prism, by offering a new vision critique based on themes that address the main issues of poetry from a broader perspective. The fourth edition of this award was marked by the participation of more than 60 research projects from various Arab countries.
