While awaiting the composition of his government, François Bayrou will respond alone, this Tuesday, December 17 afternoon, to the parliamentary groups of the Assembly for his first question session to the government since his appointment, which promises to be legendary. According to our information, Gabriel Attal proposed to Gérald Darmanin to be the speaker for the EPR group. It is therefore the former Minister of the Interior who will question the head of government on behalf of the Macronist deputies, as was decided at the group’s office meeting on Monday.

And Darmanin is not going to grill the head of government on just anything: he is going to question him about the situation in Mayotte, which is putting the tenant of Matignon in great embarrassment – well, he didn’t need anyone to to do it alone – since he preferred to chair the municipal council of Pau rather than attend in person the crisis meeting on the cyclone which devastated the archipelago in the Indian Ocean.

Darmanin therefore announces, on : “This afternoon, I will ask the Prime Minister a question on the situation in Mayotte and on the exceptional means that the State must commit to this magnificent French archipelago, which is now deeply damaged.” On the side of the management of the EPR group, we justify this choice to At Pol’s : “Darmanin followed the Mayotte file (with the Wuambushu operations in particular) when he was [à Beauvau]so it makes sense.” And we should, obviously, not see any bad intention in this.
