An explosion at a factory near Alicante, in southeastern Spain, left three people dead and seven injured on Wednesday, emergency services said.

The events took place in an industrial zone of Ibi, around forty kilometers from the center of Alicante, in an expanded polystyrene production factory. The alert was given shortly before noon.

“Three people died and seven were injured” in the “explosion” of a factory, emergency services in the Valencia region, where Alicante is located, said on X at the start of the afternoon.
