Many children injured after collision outside school
Chinese authorities are investigating whether the collision was intentional or not, after several deadly attacks on isolated individuals last week in the country.

A car collision in front of a school in central China’s Hunan province on Tuesday morning left “numerous injuries” among children, state television CCTV reported.
“Many schoolchildren were injured, the precise toll is under investigation,” CCTV said. State television did not indicate whether the collision was intentional or not.
Videos shared on Chinese social media, where the school appears, appear to show the scene just after the accident, with panicked children running and many injured people on the ground. In another, we see a bleeding man being beaten by passers-by while he lies on the ground next to an off-road car.
Several isolated attacks
China was the scene last week of several deadly attacks on isolated individuals. On Monday evening, a 62-year-old man drove an SUV into people exercising outdoors at a sports complex in Zhuhai, southern Guangdong province, killing 35 people. dead and around forty injured.
This is the worst killing in recent years in China, a country unaccustomed to violent incidents of this scale. On Saturday, a knife attack in a school in the east of the country, perpetrated by a former student, left eight dead and 17 injured.
14 injured in stampede
A crowd movement at a college in Xinjiang, in northwest China, also left 14 injured, local authorities said on Tuesday. The incident occurred on Monday at middle school number 8 in the city of Kashgar, according to a statement published on social networks by an account affiliated with the municipality.
A student fell in front of a door while students were moving between a dormitory and a school building, “causing a stampede,” according to the press release, which did not provide further details. Three people were “seriously injured and are currently being treated with all possible efforts”, specifies the same source, and 11 other people were “slightly injured and (are) under observation in hospital”.
