As the winter season approaches, ski enthusiasts are impatient. Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe, is ready to welcome enthusiasts with an array of new features. From November 23, 2024 to May 4, 2025, beginners and seasoned skiers alike will be able to slide down exceptional slopes in the heart of the 3 Valleys. Renowned for its ski area of more than 600 kilometers, the resort is enriching its offering this year with new activities and innovative gastronomic experiences.
Val Thorens, voted best ski resort in the world, innovates again
Crowned “best ski resort in the world” for the ninth time in eleven years by the World Ski Awards, Val Thorens continues to seduce thanks to the quality of its infrastructure and its welcome. The resort is not resting on its laurels and promises a season punctuated by spectacular events.
This year, the resort will host several international events that will delight extreme sports fans and spectators. From December, the Ice Cross will make an impression with an extreme skating competition on an icy track dotted with obstacles. On December 12 and 13, it’s time for the Ski Cross World Cup, where the best freestyle skiers will compete to win. The Freeride World Tour will then return from January 27 to February 1, attracting freeride elites ready to challenge the resort’s most technical slopes.
To end the season in style, two festivals will brighten up the place: the Festival’Tho, from March 19 to 21, and the Cosmic Mountain Festival, from April 19 to 21. These events combining music, art and a festive atmosphere will offer visitors a unique experience, combining sport and relaxation.
High-altitude gastronomy that meets expectations
The culinary experience is at the heart of Val Thorens’ appeal. Among the new features, the restaurant Caron 3200perched at the top of Cime Caron, stands out. With 130 seats, an intimate wine bar and a sunny rooftop, this panoramic venue promises unforgettable moments, combining refined flavors and spectacular landscapes.
The hotel Marielle offers a retro-style vinyl bar. Visitors will find more than 1,000 records to accompany a selection of quality wines. For its part, the hotel Altapura innovates with its Altayaki restaurant, where Asian cuisine merges with European flavors in an elegant and daring setting.
Val Thorens continues to push the limits of what is possible, offering much more than just a ski holiday: total immersion in a world of pleasure, adventure and discovery.
