The rise in power of the National Rally (Rn) in France worries the political class and certain members of Senegalese civil society. This is because the far right is on the verge of controlling the French National Assembly according to several polls leading up to the legislative elections of June 30, 2024. Results which should confirm those of the last Europeans who pushed Macron to dissolve the National Assembly. So, Aminata Touré gets involved.

“The National Rally has changed its wardrobe and style but not its ideology. I call on French people of African descent and African-French dual nationals to block him at the polls,” the former Prime Minister wrote on her page

The founder of Afrikajom Center went further. “African political leaders must clearly express their position regarding the threat posed by the arrival of the far right to power for Africans, Arabs and Muslims in France. We must ask the African diaspora to vote massively against the Far Right,” shares Alioune Tine on X.

Some comments criticize the positions of Aminata Touré and Alioune Tine, considering that this approach is “diplomatically incorrect”, especially since the former president of Cese, member of the Diomaye President coalition, had criticized the interference of France during the 2024 presidential election.
