Donald Trump said Tuesday that he plans to appoint the richest man on the planet, Elon Musk, to head a newly created department of “government efficiency”, jointly with Republican businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
“Together, these two great Americans will chart the course for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excessive regulations, cut unnecessary spending, and restructure federal agencies,” the president-elect said in a statement, ensuring that these two allies in his campaign would “send shockwaves through the system.”

He even compared it to the “Manhattan Project of our time,” named after the American research and development program during World War II to create the atomic bomb.

If the three wealthy businessmen come to a lasting agreement, they could make 2,000 billion dollars in clear cuts in a federal government budget of 6,500 to 7,000 billion.

Donald Trump also announced this Tuesday that he intended to appoint as Minister of Defense Pete Hegseth, a former major in the American army who is now a presenter on Fox News, the favorite channel of conservatives in the United States.
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, a former Baptist pastor who defends Israeli colonization of the Occupied Palestinian Territories, has also been appointed to the post of ambassador to Israel. And the former ultraconservative elected official John Ratcliffe at the head of the CIA.
Beyond the diplomatic aspect, the president also appointed Governor Kristi Noem, a faithful among the faithful, to lead the Ministry of Internal Security, responsible for customs and border guards.
