In an interview with LCN, Marc Amblard, a man of French origin who settled in Florida a few years ago, admitted not having seen the result of Tuesday’s presidential election coming.

“I didn’t expect a decisive victory for Donald Trump,” he said.

Nevertheless, he is sure that the Americans made the right choice, despite what Democrats and many people around the world think.

“I am not at all worried about the future, since I have already lived four years under Trump in the United States. The sky has not fallen on our heads. The economy has not collapsed, quite the contrary. Unemployment was at its lowest, businesses returned to settle in the United States following the tax reform that was initiated by Trump, there was no conflict abroad,” mentions Mr. Amblard.

In return, the latter believes that fears of a Democratic government led by Kamala Harris pushed many voters to support Trump.

“I think that the majority of Americans said no to the drift that Democratic leaders have taken towards the left with wokism, which displeases some people, and the fracture of the family, by promoting it, as was able to do Mme Harris, of transgenderism,” he maintains.

The latter also believes that inflation played a role in the defeat of the Democrats.

For her part, Anabelle Nicoud, who lives in California, believes that there were several signs which suggested a victory for the Republican candidate.

“We still felt an enthusiasm for Donald Trump, even not far from San Francisco. Still thinking that California is a state naturally won by the Democrats, I think that in this context, we could still expect a victory for Donald Trump or, at the very least, a popular momentum which would perhaps go -be the reporter in power,” she says.

This, however, is difficult to explain the choice of a majority of Americans.

“I think there might be some disappointment, for sure. But there is also a form of incomprehension in relation to this division which still seems major to him between one part of the country and the other”, indicates Mme Nicoud.
