The official Moroccan delegation for the pilgrimage left Rabat-Salé airport on Monday morning for the Holy Places of Islam, to perform the rite of Hajj for the year 1445 AH.

Led by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, the delegation includes the Wali-national coordinator of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), Mohamed Dardouri, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, Abderrahim Miad , the director of legal affairs and treaties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Hassan El Asri, and doctor Colonel Noureddine Baba.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Mezzour said he was honored by the trust placed in him by His Majesty King Mohammed VI who entrusted him with leading the official delegation to the Holy Places of Islam, in order to to provide assistance and support to Moroccan pilgrims in carrying out their rite in complete serenity.

He highlighted, in this regard, the high concern with which His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, surrounds Moroccan pilgrims, so that they can perform the rite of Hajj in the best conditions, recalling the content of the Royal Message addressed to Moroccan pilgrims traveling to the Holy Places of Islam for the year 1445.

In this message, which was read by the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, the Sovereign called on Moroccan pilgrims to represent their country properly during the Hajj season and to embody the sublime values ​​of the ‘Islam.

We must remind you of your obligation to embody during the pilgrimage season the sublime values ​​of Islam which are righteousness, thoughtfulness and benevolence towards others, solidarity and the manifestation of sincere faith towards the Lord, God of the universes. It is also up to you to properly represent your country, Morocco, and to be the standard bearers of its centuries-old civilization, the one which, over the ages, has made your ancestors famous.“, underlined the Sovereign.

This year, the number of Moroccan pilgrims amounts to 34,000, of which 22,500 are supervised by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, while travel agencies supervise 11,500 pilgrims.

In total, 738 administrators, ulemas, doctors and media professionals, including 520 guides and supervisors, are mobilized to serve these pilgrims.
