The accident, relayed by our colleagues from the Union, occurred on Saturday November 2, around 11:45 p.m., on route 425, a winding and wooded road between Neuville-sur-Margival and Margival, in Aisne, in the Hauts-de-France. A 25-year-old young man lost control of his car, a Citroën Saxo, and left the road before violently hitting a tree.
The firefighters and the Soissons Smur were unable to resuscitate him. The driver, originally from Épernay (Marne), died on the spot. He was alone in his vehicle.
According to the first elements of the gendarmerie investigation, he was part of a convoy made up of several vehicles which followed each other. This convoy had been formed a little earlier, following the interruption by the police of a rave party in the Oise. The participants were perhaps hoping to find a base in Aisne.
The investigation by the Soissons gendarmes will have to determine the circumstances of the tragedy and check in particular whether the victim had consumed alcohol or drugs before getting behind the wheel.
