The American actress attracted the wrath of the Republican presidential candidate with a video spot. She reminds voters that they can vote for Kamala Harris without their husbands knowing.

Julia Roberts is calling to vote for Kamala Harris, and Donald Trump doesn't like it. The Republican candidate for the American election, which will be held this Tuesday, November 5, reacted with annoyance to a television spot narrated by the actress of Pretty Woman. The 57-year-old actress encourages women to vote for the Democratic candidate, without the knowledge of their spouse if necessary.

“I am so disappointed in Julia Roberts,” declared the former President of the United States on Saturday October 2 on the set of the show Fox & Friendsas part of a telephone interview.

“One day she'll think about this and she'll be embarrassed,” he continued. “It doesn't say anything good about her relationship. I'm sure she has a great relationship. (But) wives and their husbands, I don't think that's how they operate.”

“What happens in the voting booth stays in the voting booth”

As Variety reports, this video was funded by the progressive religious group Vote Common Good. We see a woman voting in the voting booth for Kamala Harris. When her husband, clearly pro-Trump, asks her “Did you make the right choice?”, she replies “Yes, my darling”, before exchanging a knowing look with another voter.

In voice-over, Julia Roberts draws a barely veiled parallel with the decline in the right to abortion in the United States: “In the only place in America where women still have a choice (the voting booth, Editor's note) , you can vote however you want and no one will know,” she says.

“Don’t forget,” she concludes, “what happens in the voting booth stays in the voting booth.”

“Can we imagine a wife who does not tell her husband who she is voting for?” Donald Trump asked the presenters of Fox & Friends in reaction. “Have you ever heard of such a thing? Even if the relationship is bad, you tell your husband. It's ridiculous. So stupid.”
