Dozens arrested for looting and armed robbery in Pinellas County, Florida, after hurricane Milton.

According to the Tampa Bay Times41 of the 45 suspects are not American citizens.

“Several individuals were in the area taking property and our efforts prevented further crimes from occurring,” Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said at a news conference.

“Some enter residences and search through citizens’ personal belongings,” he added. On one occasion it was an armed robbery where they came in and robbed them by force.”

He indicated that police would continue to patrol the area to prevent looting.

“Our efforts to protect the community did not stop with the direct impact of the two hurricanes,” the sheriff said in a statement. We are now focused on protecting our residents and businesses who are desperate to rebuild and get their lives back on track.”

More than twenty people lost their lives due to the hurricane Milton. According to various media, the damage would be worth more than 50 billion dollars.
