UNITED STATES – Just over two weeks. This is the time that remains before the American presidential election which will take place on November 5 and for the two candidates to convince the last voters who could tip the scales. For Kamala Harris, it is about black men who are increasingly numerous in their eyes at Donald Trump.

The Democratic vice-president began this penultimate week of campaigning in Pennsylvania, a particularly important key state, even considered the state to absolutely win to settle in the Oval Office after Joe Biden. It was here that she announced a series of proposals intended to directly benefit African-American men.

This program aims to help them launch their small business or business, in particular through advantageous loans. The measures also provide for training and apprenticeship aid, as well as a system of favored access to education professions for black men.

Seduction operation in progress

This seduction operation comes as the former California prosecutor is lagging behind in the polls with this category of voters, compared to her Democratic predecessors engaged in the race for the White House.

They voted 90% for Joe Biden in 2020, a level that fell to 78% for Kamala Harris according to a New York Times/Siena College opinion poll. And according to a study by the NAACP (organization for the defense of African-Americans) widely reported in the media in recent days, a quarter of black men under 50 say they want to vote for the Republican, a figure that is on the rise. Problematic, since certain states with a large African-American community will be decided by only a few thousand votes.

Proof of the Democrats’ fear in this extremely close election: last Thursday, former President Barack Obama rebuked his “brothers” blacks, according to him reluctant to elect a woman for the first time in American history. “ You come up with all sorts of reasons and excuses. This poses a problem to me”he said.

The gap between Harris and Trump narrows again

Kamala Harris did not just unveil a program favorable to the African-American community. She also attended a religious service on Sunday in a church attended mainly by African-Americans in Greenville, North Carolina, then the vice-president gave an interview, broadcast on Monday, to a black journalist, Roland Martin.

In Detroit, Michigan on Tuesday, she will appear on a show hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, a radio host and comedian very popular, particularly with young African-American adults. If Kamala Harris manages to win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan, she will have practically validated her conquest of the White House. But there is still a long way to go.

Indeed, the outcome of the vote is more uncertain than ever, the two adversaries being neck and neck with the gap seeming to be narrowing further. Two latest polls published this weekend show Donald Trump trimming his rival’s very slight lead, gaining ground particularly among black and Latin American voters.
