VIDEO – Chilling footage of Corey Micciolo, a 6-year-old from New Jersey, repeatedly running and falling off a treadmill as his father increased the speed was shown in court this week.

Jurors in a New Jersey court this week watched the heartbreaking March 2021 video of a father increasing the speed of a treadmill his six-year-old son was running on, and the child falling several head first. These images were taken at a gym less than two weeks before Corey’s death, USA Today reports.

Corey, allegedly abused to death, suffered fatal cardiac stress after a final beating fatally damaged his heart. The trial of his father, Christopher Gregor, 31, of Barnegat, New Jersey, on charges of murder and endangering the lives of others, began this week in Ocean County Superior Court.

His father forced him to play sports

Prosecutors alleged that Christopher Gregor exhibited abusive behavior for months before Corey died. Breanna Micciolo, Corey’s mother, told the jury she noticed bruising on her son in March 2021. It was during an appointment with a child abuse specialist that her son allegedly recounted the treadmill incident. According to him, his father forced him to play sports because he found it “too big”.

During his investigation, the medical examiner concluded that the boy died of blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen. Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Jamie Schron reiterated this conclusion in her opening statement on Tuesday, April 30. Gregor, who denies hitting or otherwise abusing his son, has pleaded not guilty to both charges. He faces a possible life sentence if convicted of the murder.
