Live – October 7 commemorations: Hamas fires rockets at Israel

Lhe commemoration of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel began early Monday morning, amid the sound of explosions and rocket impacts. Participants in the commemoration, which was held at the location where exactly a year earlier the Nova festival took place, had to briefly lie on the ground as Hamas fired rockets from the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military says Hamas fired four rockets Monday morning at 6:31 a.m. (local time), three of which were intercepted by air defenses. A rocket fell in an uninhabited area, according to the army. Hamas’ military wing claimed responsibility for firing the rockets toward southern Israel.

During the festival, located in the east of the Gaza Strip near the town of Re’im, more than 370 people were killed on October 7, 2023. The commemoration began at 6:25 a.m. Monday morning. The organization notably broadcast the last song that festival-goers had heard before the Hamas attack began.
