“bastards”
André Manoukian visits the castles of the Centre-Val de Loire region in images and music for his show “Château!”, broadcast on Sunday midday on France 3 Centre-Val de Loire.
On January 19, the songwriter and musician honored the “imposing” château of Châteaudun, marked by one of its owners: Jean de Dunois, the “Bastard of Orléans” and companion of weapons of Joan of Arc during numerous battles. The 13-minute documentary, which can be watched in replay on the france.tv site, was produced with a special original soundtrack (OST), inspired by the nickname of Jean de Dunois.
“It is the soundtrack of the war film Inglourious Basterds, by Quentin Tarantino, which will accompany us throughout the visit,” announced André Manoukian, who cannot help but connect architecture to music. Hear The Green Leaves of Summer by Nick Perito, The Verdict and The Surrender by Ennio Morricone or Main Theme from Dark of the Sun by Jacques Loussier in the “sublime” and “unmissable” Sainte-Chapelle, the Longueville wing and “ the secret room” in the basements gave the program a rather amusing cinematic counterpoint.
-Books and games
The Chartres media library opened its doors to video games several years ago. But she is also interested in board games. Isabelle Vincent, deputy mayor in charge of culture and heritage, says that a toy library is in the works. “It is part of the missions of libraries to adapt to current cultural practices,” she explains. And board games have been on the rise for several years. A dedicated team was created at the media library, which acquired around twenty board games. While waiting for the creation of a space which will bring together both video games and board games, an activity dedicated to the latter is already offered, once a month, at L'Apostrophe or at the Louis-Aragon library, in the La Madeleine district.
