John Textor has decided to sell a new family jewel since he left to sell the Meyzieu complex where the academy is located to Michelle Kang, the boss of OL women.
There should be movement in the air in the coming weeks in Lyon, and this does not only concern the transfer window. This is the field of infrastructure real estate. This Sunday evening, L'Equipe reveals that John Textor plans to leave the Meyzieu complex where the OL training center is located, to Michelle Kang. The boss of OL women would recover this place to build the future stadium of the Rhone team, knowing that the latter does not have a medium-sized enclosure capable of hosting its matches, both in the championship and in the Champions League. In this transaction, Michelle Kang therefore recovered the premises and the lease of the Academy, for a sum of 20 million euros.
What about the OL academy?
The crucial question then remains where the football school and training center will go. John Textor plans to build new facilities, closer to Groupama Stadium, still in Décines. But L'Equipe also suggests that the American owner is mainly interested in the OL professional team, and much less in the training center and the football school. Things could move very quickly, because in the event of the sale of the premises and the lease, Michelle Kang could invest in the premises from next season, which still leaves the question of the training center with a rapid need for an answer.
