Marmara SpikeLeague (7th day)
It was therefore the TLM which stood up first and in a good way. At the STAB Vélodrome in Roubaix, Dorian Rougeyron's men nicely mastered Montpellier (3-0) to take control of the MSL. An anchored reception (63% positive receptions), a multiple block (10 blocks) and an Ignacio Luengas who has a string of performances (20 pts including 2 aces and 2 blocks) took Tourcoing in front and cost the Héraultais a second setback in a row.
Which see surprising people from Cannes tumbling towards them. Saturday evening, the promoted Côte d'Azur made short work of the TVB (3-0) in 1 hour 30 minutes. Tourangeaux sideways in attack and often punished by the arm of Reda Haikal (17 pts including 2 aces and 3 blocks ), who now have three consecutive losses and are in penultimate place in the rankings!
Chaumont, on the other hand, balances the score after a clear success over the outgoing champion, Saint-Nazaire (3-0), which bears the seal of Jacob Pasteur (15 pts including 4 aces and 2 blocks). Poitiers, for his part, is overtaken by his Saturday evening executioner, Nice. On the Coast, the Niçois reprimanded the Poitevins (3-0). It wasn't Earvin Ngapeth's evening (9 pts at 29% attack), but it was Simon Hirsch's again (24 pts including 5 aces!
Finally, a bad weekend for Ile-de-France volleyball. At home, Paris took the lesson from Toulouse (0-3) and from a sharp 21-year-old Frenchman, Nathan Feral (27 pts including 5 aces). As for Plessis-Robinson, he is still not taking off, beaten in the tie-break in Sète (2-3), after leading two sets to one.
Saforelle Power 6 (7th day)
Before attacking the Champions League this week, Nantes and Levallois Paris succeeded in their last trial run. At home, the Neptunes had a tough match against Vandoeuvre Nancy. On arrival, the leader of SP 6 accumulated a 7th success in a row (3-1), with a well-constructed wall (12 blocks), supported in particular by Haylie Bennett (20 pts including 4 blocks). The Mariannes, for their part, avoided the Breton trap, by winning in Quimper (1-3), with an even more impenetrable barricade and the trifle of 16 counters distributed among eight players, in a great collective momentum.
In the footsteps of the Nantes leader, Mulhouse did not let go and won against Cannes (3-1), with good inspiration once again from Annayka Legros (16 pts including 3 blocks).
Behind, Pays d'Aix Venelles fought hard to win the challengers' match, overthrowing Terville Florange in the tie-break (3-2) after being down two sets to nothing. The Greek receiver of Provençales, Asimina Nikologianni, was valuable (18 pts including 2 aces).
In the Top 6, here is Bordeaux Mérignac which arrives! The “Burdis” are afraid of nothing for their first professional season and put an end to the good series of Chamalières (3-1), with five blocks for Katarina Budrak and 26 points from Eva Svobodova. Le Cannet is peeking into the Top 8, after a first success at home ahead of Béziers (3-0) and a full match from Masa Kirov (14 pts including 2 aces and 6 blocks). Finally, Marcq-en-Baroeul – France Avenir will take place tomorrow evening.
LBM (4th day)
Fréjus therefore fell first. On a trip to Reims, the Varois suffered the law of the Champenois and their sharp point guard, Ikken Boudjemaa (26 pts at 24 out of 40 in attack), losing in the deciding set (3-2). Ajaccio therefore remains the only undefeated one at the end of this D4, after its own victory with eleven against accumulated in three rounds over Royan (3-0).
Martigues leads the pursuit behind the leading tandem. The Martegaux got rid of France Avenir 2024 (3-0), with a still broad-shouldered Maoni Talia (20 pts at 60% in attack). Nancy did the job too, easily dismissing Cambrai (3-0), thanks to an inspired attack (62% success). Finally, Saint-Quentin offered itself a nice first success this season, by having the ASI (3-1), on the basis of a remarkable collective effort (10 markers in total) and a monumental defensive base, with 18 cumulative counterattacks, leaving the Gironde attack with only 37% success.
