The end is near. On December 26, “Squid Game” returned to Netflix after more than three years of absence, with a season 2 that excited fans. According to the creator of the series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, the final season 3 was filmed in the wake of the previous one, and will put an end to the adventures of Gi-hun who, after his victory at the end of the first chapter, had decided to re-enter the game to destroy it from the inside in the second. In vain.
What do we know about the plot?
After the thrilling finale of season 2, “Squid Game” fans are left with many unanswered questions. Obviously, Netflix was careful not to say too much about the rest of the events. Hwang Dong-hyuk, however, gave some clues about what awaits viewers through a series of questions.
“As for the storyline of the third season, with Gi-hun having lost everything, including his best friend, and all his attempts ending in failure, what will he be like now? What state will Gi-hun be in? And what will he choose to do? Will he continue the mission? Will he give up or persist? And so you’re going to meet our character Gi-hun at a very critical crossroads as we begin the third season. Gi-hun will no longer be the man he was in season 2,” he explained.
The creator of the series also assured that the history of the Front Man, and how he inherited this position, will be revealed in season 3. “The question that had not been answered in the season, on how he became the Front Man, will have an answer. In-ho was an excellent policeman, with a good heart. How did he become this character? “That’s what you’re going to find out in season 3,” he told CBR in December.
-Who will be in the casting?
All the characters who were not killed in season 2 are expected in the next one. There is some doubt regarding player 246, who was left for dead after being shot by a guard. According to a popular fan theory, Lee Jin-wook’s character could make a surprise return.
A rumor announcing the possible presence of Leonardo DiCaprio in the cast of season 3 gained momentum on social networks, before being officially denied by Netflix. The participation of a member of the group BTS was also mentioned after photos showing him with actors from the series. This has not been confirmed at this time.
When will it be released?
