The City of Circular and Sustainable Innovation (CICD) is officially launching a financing campaign with private companies in the region to support the development of their Shared Circular Economy Innovation Center (CIMEC) project.

This project, estimated at approximately $50 million, aims to “promote Victoriaville as a key player in the circular economy. » It mainly focuses on the priority sectors of wood products, furniture and construction. It has also been submitted to the relevance committee of the Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy in Quebec.

The objectives of this project are numerous and ambitious.

The CICD hopes, in particular, to increase the rate of circularity in Quebec in targeted sectors, attract researchers, investors, academics and businesses who wish to innovate and position Victoriaville as a national and international leader in sustainable development and the circular economy.

The fundraising campaign, which will begin in February and continue until May, aims to raise $5 million from private companies. These funds will complement public support.

“We have worked extremely hard with our partners to reach this pivotal moment. This project represents a unique opportunity for the region and for Quebec to become leaders in circular and sustainable innovation in strategic sectors for our economy,” declares Israel Poulin, general director of the Cité de l’innovation circular et durable.
