After six seasons of participation in Dancing with the starsAnthony Colette bows out. The professional dancer, who joined the program in 2017, announced Wednesday January 15 on Instagram that he will not participate in the 2025 vintage, specifying that it is not his decision.
A departure which comes after a 2024 season marred by the conflict between Inès Reg and Natasha St-Pier, of whom he was the partner.
“It would be a lie to pretend that I voluntarily chose to end this adventure now,” he wrote. “I’m also not going to pretend that it was the right time, because I haven’t decided anything.”
“I don’t necessarily understand the reasons for my absence, of course, but life has decided otherwise, and I must accept,” continues the 29-year-old dancer. “I will not criticize this program that I loved so much, nor all the wonderful people I had the chance to meet. I hope that this magical floor continues to make people dream for a long time to come.”
The season of scandal
Having won the competition last year alongside Natasha St-Pier, Anthony Colette leaves the program with a victory. But this season 13 was also the scene of a violent conflict in which he found himself involved between his partner and the comedian Inès Reg, another candidate in the game.
A vive altercation had broken out between the two women during a rehearsal of Dancing with the stars on January 31, 2024. Following leaks in the press, notably on a handrail filed by the singer of You will findeach delivered his version of the facts on social networkscausing new media coverage.
Inès Reg then assured in video that Natasha St-Pier had called her a “little slut”, while the latter had pleaded the “bad joke” and had accused her of verbal violence towards her and Anthony Colette. He had also filed a complaint against Inès Reg and had explained on Instagram that he had taken this measure after having been the target of “multiple insults/threats” while he sought to “calm down a situation”.
“I don’t regret anything, except maybe being too nice and naive sometimes, if I may,” the dancer wrote in his goodbye message on Wednesday.
He concludes by sending “a huge thought to (his) friends and fellow dancers, who will miss (him) very much”, and “sincerely thanks” all his dance partners. In the space of six seasons, Anthony Colette accompanied Iris Mittenaere, Elsa Esnoult and Lucie Lucas.
The cast of the next season of Dancing with the stars has not yet been fully revealed. Christophe Licata, professional dancer who accompanied Inès Reg last season, announced that he was returning in an interview with Le Parisien.
