The Winnipeg Jets have acquired defenseman Isaak Phillips from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for defenseman Dmitry Kuzmin, the Manitoba club announced Wednesday.
Phillips, who is 23, has one goal in three games with the Blackhawks this season. He also collected eight points (1-7) and served 54 penalty minutes in 28 games with the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League.
The defenseman from Barrie, Ontario has 12 points (2-10) and 31 penalty minutes in 56 career NHL games, all with the Hawks.
Phillips was a fifth-round pick, 141st overall, by the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
As for Kuzmin, from Kholstovo, Belarus, he was a third-round pick, 82nd overall, by the Jets during the 2021 league auction.
The 21-year-old hockey player has one goal and three assists in 21 games with the Manitoba Moose this season.
