On February 20, 2025, Netflix will hit hard. A new series to be placed in the “political thriller” genre, with Robert de Niro in the main role, will be available. It is called Zero Day and promises to be memorable!

The platform has announced the release of a new mini-series on February 20. Titled Zero Dayit looks completely crazy. In the form of a thriller, it will immerse us in the United States, just after a major cyberattack which resulted in the death of 3,402 people. The trailer (to be seen at the top of the article) suggests that conspiracy theories could well turn out to be plausible around this deadly event. In the highest echelons of state, including within the Oval Office of the White House, the wildest secrets and the most destructive decisions circulate among powerful people.

Who are the actors who star in Zero Dayto see in 2025 on Netflix?

To carry this six-episode mini-series, showrunner Eric Newman, to whom we owe the series Narcos et Narcos : Mexico on Netflix, has focused on very big movie stars. We notably find Robert de Niro in the role of George Mullen, a man of power who has connections with the President of the United States (played by Angela Bassett) and who will have to struggle to find a solution to the crisis. He will also have to get his hands on those responsible for the cyber attack, whatever the cost. Unless he’s got the target completely wrong… Lizzy Caplan (Lolita in spite of myself, Masters of Sex), Connie Britton (American Horror Story, Nashville) or even Joan Allen are also in the cast.

How did the filming of Zero Day ?

This mini-series directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, to whom we already owe the excellent Mad Men et Homelandhas been in the pipeline since November 2022. Robert de Niro was quickly considered in the lead role. The first images were shot in April 2023, but filming had to be postponed for many months due to the writers’ and actors’ strike that year. The other scenes could be filmed during 2024, which delayed the initial release of the project. This time, however, it’s the right one. See you on February 20 on Netflix!
