“One show, one less tooth.” Met a few months after filming, Briac is amused by the situation. We find him in the casting of Beijing Express, The epic of the Maharajdas whose first episode was broadcast this Saturday, September 14 on M6. The one who forms an emblematic duo with Fabrice headed to India for this All-stars season which brings together fourteen leading candidates of the show. During the first episode, the adventure began in Agra in very special conditions… To put these regulars in difficulty, the production decided to have them start the competition blind, a first in the history of the game!

“It was bloody but I kept running” : Briac returns to his misadventure in Beijing Express, The epic of the Maharajas

The candidates, all blindfolded, had to remember the address given to them by Stéphane Rotenberg on the radio, grope for their backpack in the room they couldn’t see, then ask some Indians to lead them to the next stage. A 5 km route to the Taj Mahal, which caused some difficulties for the pairs. Briac, hanging on to Fabrice, himself guided by a local, hit a barrier head-on and broke a tooth. “It hurt me, I had a bloody mouth and they didn’t show it well Besides”, reveals Briac to Tele-Leisure. “It was bleeding but I continued the race, it’s only a tooth, it’s just bodywork. We’re in a competition so we can’t stop because of a missing tooth or nail. We prepared ourselves physically but also mentally to suffer !”admits the young man, still as competitive as ever.

Briac waited until he returned to France to have his broken tooth repaired in Beijing Express, The epic of the maharajas

And since then, how is Briac’s tooth doing? The tooth is fine, it has been repaired. I waited until I got back to France to have it repaired because I didn’t trust Indian dentists too much. There was a risk of infection perhaps, but I preferred to take it because I felt that my tooth was fine. It hurt, but I think it was better. It moved but not to the point of falling out. It would have been really disturbing if I ended up like Jacquouille the rascal.”jokes the candidate who we will see with a piece of tooth missing throughout his adventure. Fortunately, Briac quickly put this mishap aside to fully enjoy the race: “Discovering the Taj Mahal after spending two hours blindfolded is a crazy landscape. You realize how lucky you are to be there, on Pékin Expresswe say that the season is starting off with a bang!”
