From September 18 in the schools of the department and September 21 at the Marcadieu hall, “The fourth meetings of the youth book of Tarbes” will offer a large number of workshops related to reading. An event organized by the association Culture Pyrénées.
“Our association aims to give young people from the Pyrenees a taste for reading,” explains president Anne-Marie Bertran.
“Since its first edition in 2021, the Tarbes Youth Book Meetings have offered the opportunity to see reading differently. Each year, we invite authors like Xavier Saut, publishers such as the Bordelais de la Grande Vague, illustrators from the region to speak in schools, then at the Marcadieu hall.”
For this fourth edition, the Culture Pyrénées association has chosen the theme of imagination.
And imagination will be found in many such diverse workshops.
On the 21st at the Halle Marcadieu for example, everyone will be able to enjoy an introduction to manga with the mangaka Théo, a discovery of games with Animalumis, an ephemeral library, a dictation by the marmot, animated tales and more.
“These meetings receive important partnerships every year,” adds the president. “Obviously, there are those of the town hall, the department and the region among others. Nevertheless, we must not forget the involvement of the actions proposed by associations such as the Valentin Huey association for reading in the dark or the Melting Potes.
This other type of partnership highlights our desire to incorporate reading as a social link that can help adults who have difficulty with reading.”
