Since the start of the third season of STAT, viewers of the daily have assiduously watched the stories concocted by author Marie-Andrée Labbé. Although the comments are generally more than positive, certain characters nevertheless attract more criticism. This is particularly the case of Daniel Laramée, played by Bruno Marcil, nurse and union representative who makes rain or shine at Saint-Vincent Hospital.
If we like the romance that he gradually develops with Isabelle Granger (Geneviève Schmidt), we generally disapprove of his shenanigans so that he and his partner Laurence Caron (Gabrielle Côté) have more power in the hospital.
In an interview, actor Bruno Marcil laughs at viewers’ reactions to his character.
« Well, I have no problem “, he tells us, amused, talking about playing a character who so polarizes the public, “ because if it’s just smooth and nice, there’s no point, we’ll get bored ».
He continues: “ I have a lot of fun with Daniel! He’s a careerist, he’s a bit of a talker, and at the same time, he’s a good guy! »
I get told a lot that I’m a kid (laughs)! Then often, I’m like “yeah, but he’s thin, Daniel”!
Same story for the author who defends her character tooth and nail: “ I know there are people who love to hate him and people who love to love him. I have to love him. In fact, I love it! I will not be made to speak against Daniel certain », she told us, laughing.
Concerning the love triangle which is emerging between Isabelle, Daniel and Raphaël (Antoine Bertrand), the actor obviously does not want to get too far ahead. He is content to give us a sentence which is not without intrigue: “ Sometimes life can be even more complicated than it already is. »
He concludes by adding: “ The paths to love can be very complicated, even more complicated than we thought. »
For his part, the actor Antoine Bertrand confirmed to us in an interview that the flirtation between his Raphaël and Isabelle would continue after the holidays. An interview to read here.
