Motion of censure: “Until the end, I tried to convince her”, says the communist substitute for the deputy for Lozère Sophie Pantel

He was for the motion of censure. She did not vote for it.

Serge Gayssot (PCF) is the deputy of the deputy for Lozère Sophie Pantel, socialist: they presented themselves to the voters under the banner of the New Popular Front.

The motion of censure tabled by the NFP was voted for by the majority of deputies. But not by Sophie Pantel. “If some of her arguments can be heard, I do not share the conclusion she gave to her fears, I told her and until the end, with others, I tried to convince her to register in the collective, almost unanimous dynamic of our coalition. We did not succeed, I regret it”, confides Serge Gayssot.

He wrote, in a press release: “Many of you have expressed your surprise, your disappointment, and questioned me about this choice. Coming from different political families and commitments, the characteristic of a gathering, this is not the first time, nor the last, that we will happen to have different opinions or to disagree, even if in the present case, the importance of the question and its media coverage make the episode more difficult to go through.

“Collective work”

He adds: “This period full of uncertainties, anxiety-provoking […] requires us seriously. This involves accentuating our collective work with all those who have given us their trust and support and who expect responses to social, environmental and democratic emergencies as well as an ambition for justice, solidarity and peace for . , Europe and around the world. This ambition remains possible and we will continue to work on it, the MP and I, on the basis of the proposals that we presented to you following the dissolution of the National Assembly.”
