“I still believe in Prince Charming”: this Vannes woman takes part in the Golden Bachelor show

“I still believe in Prince Charming,” she says with a smile. Has Vannes native Béatrice Marin found him in Landry, M6’s Golden Bachelor? In any case, she is one of the 20 suitors who will try to seduce him.

She jumped at the chance to participate in the show: “I loved Bachelor when I was younger, but I was too old to be selected,” she explains. When I saw that in the United States, they were launching Golden Bachelor, I told myself that I was going to be able to realize this dream! As soon as I knew that it was coming to France, last January, I applied. It was on a Sunday and the production contacted me on Monday morning.”

The 62-year-old from Vannes shoots a video and sends photos, then goes to a casting in Paris. Selected, she returns there to meet the production and try on evening dresses for the famous “rose ceremonies”. An interview with a psychologist is also on the program to prepare for notoriety and possible criticism.

The show was filmed in April in a Provençal farmhouse, with twenty female candidates aged 55 to 67 trying to seduce a 60-year-old bachelor, Landry, a widower for several years. “I loved the experience, I laughed from morning to night,” she says five months later. “We could be ourselves, nothing was imposed on us.”

And the privilege of age allowed the twenty candidates to avoid skirmishes: “We all remained united, in a good frame of mind. If there were tensions, we were able to manage them intelligently.”

And now, Koh Lanta?

She has very fond memories of Golden Bachelor: “It was a sweet interlude in my life. I wish everyone to have such an experience. My advice is to stay simple and be yourself.” This is also a characteristic shared by the twenty candidates: “They wanted candidates who were natural and unfiltered, dynamic, sincere in their approach, kind, focused on people and not afraid of what others think.”

She adds that her original personality should not leave the public indifferent… And she thinks that the show will appeal to all generations: “It shows that the codes of love are timeless.”

Finally, Béatrice would like to continue on her momentum: “I now dream of participating in Koh Lanta, to go from princess to adventurer!”
