“The Cerveau”: Broadcast date, concept, candidates… Everything you need to know about W9’s new reality

It’s a brand new concept that’s coming to W9. In “The Brain”, the channel puts 18 reality personalities well known to viewers into competition, who will compete to try to win the supreme title of “greatest brain in reality TV”. The show will be broadcast Monday to Friday from December 9, at 7:50 p.m. It thus follows on from season 3 of “Fifty”, the finale of which is scheduled for Friday December 6 at 7:50 p.m.

Le concept

The principle is simple. The 18 candidates are divided into two teams, Alpha and Beta. Every week, the candidates from the two teams will compete in different intellectual challenges (logic, memory, general knowledge, spelling). The team that loses the event must then designate one of its players, during the voting ceremony, who will face a player of their choice in an elimination duel. The latter takes place in three rounds maximum (two winning rounds). The loser will then be eliminated and will have to leave the adventure. All the tests will be arbitrated by the dean, the mistress of the game who will challenge the candidates.

Filming locations

The program was filmed at the start of the school year in the heart of , since the Académie du Cerveau took up residence in the heart of the capital’s International University City, in the 14th arrondissement. During the grand final, which will see the last 5 candidates competing, an “enigmatic race” will be launched across Paris to try to win the grail, the “Golden Brain”. They will decide during a river trip on the Seine aboard a barge, on board which 4 elimination stages will take place. When there are only 2 candidates left, they will challenge each other on the steps of the Parisian university during the “Ultimate Duel”.
