Lola DeWire: “For a long time I thought I was stupid“
Télé-Loisirs: You suffer from ADHD. Why is it important for you to publicize it?
Lola Dewar : Because we don't talk about it enough and we don't take it seriously. People think it's a fashionable thing. I was diagnosed by doctors, I did not go to see Madame Irma. I even have an x-ray of my brain that shows things not normally connected. When there are too many stimuli around me, I have an anxiety attack and hysteria. In a conversation, sometimes people have to repeat a sentence to me three times, because I'm going elsewhere. For the longest time, I thought I was stupid. Having a diagnosis has done me so much good.
How did you come to be diagnosed?
At the start of filming Astrid and Raphaëlle, Sara's acting impressed me so much that I forgot to say my lines. At the start, it was complicated for her because she has a really tough role to play and we had to start again. I really wasn't proud. That's when I realized I had a problem and I needed to go see someone. So, since I was diagnosed, everyone is a little more patient, and for my part, I condition myself before playing. When I arrive on set, I seriously announce with a smile: 'I warn you, I have ADHD, you have to repeat things to me a lot.'The fact of learning texts in my profession and being focused frames me and helps me.
Lola DeWire: “I was in crisis, I no longer had any social battery“
What consequences can this syndrome have in your private life?
Recently, during a weekend with friends, I was getting ready for a costume party and people kept asking me. At one point, I screamed and told them that because of my syndrome, I couldn't concentrate on several subjects at the same time. I was in crisis, I no longer had any social battery. My guy [le comédien Gianni Giardinelli, ndlr] kicked everyone out, sat me on the bed, I was shaking.
You are living a beautiful love story with Gianni Giardinelli for a year and a half. What could be next, a wedding?
Marriage in church not because I am not a believer. But a big party with friends, serious!
