Difficult beginnings in a Parisian closet for Guillaume GENTON
Guillaume Genton was not always the successful columnist we know today. His beginnings in Paris tell a story of resourcefulness and determination. “When I arrived in Paris, I lived in 6m². It’s a closet, yes, forbidden”he confided on the TPMP set. A small space of 200 euros which illustrates his initial struggle, where he did not even dare to bring his girlfriends. He went so far as to invite them to McDonald’s on the Champs-Élysées to hide his precariousness.
He continues: “And I wanted to be the guy a little bit that she was daring all the same. So I walk, that’s all, we go to a nearby avenue which is Georges V, and she says to me, but where do you live? And I look up randomly at a building, I live there. And that apartment, in that building, I got 10 years later. No, I swear, afterward I gave it back, but I got it.”

With the arrival of fame and money, Guillaume Genton fell into a whirlwind of extravagant spending. Not long ago, he explained: “I lost 3 or 4 million euros on stupid things”. His lifestyle reflected his success: two Lamborghinis, a Porsche, three rental apartments. “I earned 100, I spent 150”, he confided.
