This Monday, November 18, 2024 in Quotidien on TMC, Yann Barthès received in the second part of the show Damso, the Belgian rapper who is making music news: Friday, November 15, he in fact released by surprise a new opus called J'ai menti . A title which owes nothing to chance, because the artist was really guilty of lying. He had in fact announced to his audience that the disc would only be available from May 30. The one who works without a manager or record label actually changed his mind thanks to a fan he met in the street: “we talked so well that he made me want to make music. I said to myself I I'm going to make two or three sounds, but I was so inspired that I made an album”, he revealed on the set of Quotidien.
We can bet that his audience will easily forgive him for this change of program, especially since the rapper evokes very personal subjects, such as the dark and complex aspects of his personality. The last title, called “Damsautiste” speaks in particular of the suspicions of Asperger's autism which he has suffered since his youth. Anyone who has never gone for tests to check it completely accepts who he is, as he told Yann Barthès: “I am what you want me to be, I feel good”. And he doesn't entirely deny the rumors that he has an “obsessive and annoying” character. “I try to get to the end every time, and that can be annoying. If I have an idea in mind, I'll work on it for 30 hours straight, I give my best in everything.”
“Why is Damso acting nervous like that on Quotidien?”
As atypical as he is diehard, the rapper then spoke of his frequent “word fasts”, which can last a week, or even two. “It allows me to develop a relationship with humility. When we are silent, we end up really listening to others.” In these moments, the artist can only be reached in case of emergency at an email address between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. If the interview was good-natured in the first minutes, the set ended up bringing up an angry subject: the apology for unfaithful alpha males in the title “Alpha”. But faced with questions from Yann Barthès on this subject, Damso kicked in. If he admitted to being an alpha male himself, it is above all in his tendency to be protective and caring towards those he loves. A pirouette that Yann Barthès did not really pick up on.

We had to wait for Pablo Mira to witness more targeted attacks against the rapper. Coming to present his column “4 minutes including shower”, the comedian spoke of the anger of farmers mobilized against the Mercosur free trade agreement. And he did not fail to send a stray bullet to the guest by making a daring parallel: “The farmers had very harsh words towards the government. There were some 'p***, s**ope, manure' etc, so much so that Damso said to them 'hey guys, would you like to write my lyrics?!', he said, in front of a hilarious set. A few minutes later, he heckled Damso again, when he was talking about feminism. The comedian pretended to remove his testicles in order, he said, to avoid slipping into masculinist jokes. He will send one of them to Damso on the table, who, far from being amused, pushed the fake testicle away, muttering with a closed face: “no, I don't like that though!”. His face will remain closed until the end of the show, which Internet users have noticed. Some of them felt that it lacked humor, while others rather blamed the “heaviness” of the jokes on set.
