Journalist specializing in series, cinema, but also anime and manga. Spends his time dreaming of Emma Watson, considers Olivier Giroud the GOAT and refuses to speak with those who are against the absolute truth which is: How I Met Your Mother is a better series than Friends.

The release date is known, it is on February 13, 2025 that Netflix will put part 3 of season 6 of Cobra Kai online, the last. And to launch this ending, the creators simply took advantage of part 2, available on the streaming site, to kill a character. A strong choice, but necessary.

The rest after the ad

Despite the few personal dramas experienced by certain characters and the sometimes explosive atmosphere of certain action sequences, Cobra Kai has always had a feel good effect. The kind of series you watch to relax and have a good time. Especially with all its very cool and touching nods to the saga Karate Kid.

A character killed in season 6 of Cobra Kai

Also, it is an understatement to say that part 2 of season 6 (which will be the last of the fiction) surprised and shocked all the fans. In question? Episode 10 simply ended with the death of a character: KwonKreese's new protégé.

While a general fight had just broken out between the different teams, Kwon – annoyed at being mishandled by Axel, was about to stab the latter. However, following a bad blow, he fell badly, to the point of burying the knife in his own chest. A scene that immediately calmed everyone down and surprised all the fans.

A shock that will change everything

However, as the creators told Variety, it was the perfect idea to shake up this universe one last time and bring it to its conclusion in part 3. “We imagined Kwon as the new big bad in this part 2recalled Hayden Schlossberg. And so, to see him die following a confrontation was the kind of surprise we were looking to stage“. A situation all the more important as it was unprecedented in the series, which had not yet killed anyone on screen.

And inevitably, while Kwon was guided by Kreese's evil mantra (never show mercy), Johnny Lawrence's ex-mentor will face the consequences of his actions in Part 3.”Kreese appeared more determined to take revenge than ever and for that, Kwon was his ultimate weaponSchlossberg later described. It ended with this Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla-style scene where all the students were fighting and that allowed us to ensure that Kreese can realize the results of his own actions. And to see one of his students die with the knife he himself had brought here“. A knife which, as we could see, had a real symbolism linked to its past.

Josh Heald (co-creator) added: “The knife represents Kreese's last vestige of humanity. This is an inflection point. Does it lead her to fall further into this spiral or can it create an opportunity for change? This is the big question we want people to ask themselves at the end of these 5 episodes“.

We will now have to wait until February 13, 2025 to find out Kreese's reaction, but we can already expect a finale as crazy as it is explosive!
